I'm Marie Lagrange, a painter and illustrator based in Haute-Saône, France. In my paintings I like to explore themes such as magic, spirituality, melancholy, fantastic characters and creatures, nature, plants and especially trees: my favourite subject because their ever-changing shapes and forms give them almost a personality of their own. I've created a fantasy world that I've called "the Vhoïdker world" and many of my paintings are inspired by this universe as well as nourishing it.

I appreciate traditional techniques in which water is an essential element, such as watercolours and inks. I like to work with fairly bright colour ranges, which give my paintings a fantastic, dreamlike dimension. I also work in digital painting, depending on the project.
